Following President Ramaphosa’s address on the 3rd of December 2020, the weekly increase in new infections in the Western Cape, and after careful consideration by the Committee of NEHM, we are concerned with the resurgence of Covid-19 infections. In the above context, the Committee of NEHM has resolved that THE MASJID WILL BE CLOSED AS OF WEDNESDAY, 9 DECEMBER 2020 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. This solemn decision was in keeping with the principle of the preservation, sanctity and reverence of life.

The Masjid is aware of musallees performing Salaah in the road after the masjid capacity has been reached. The committee has decided to cordon off the road for the safety of the musallees and will switch back on the outside speakers however, the Masjid can not take any responsibility for the wellbeing of those congregants praying outside of the masjid.
